This had been the initial promise of the first generation strategies but fell back into prior IT transformation habits in view of organizational governance. This path asks the question of whether the strategy should be more of the same or can it become different. The distinction is very important for moving into new grounds or sticking to the tried-and-tested processes. Performance Through it all, human performance is the main essence of digital transformation. It creates the type of value that leads to revenues. There are alternative goals for digital to create efficiencies that are driving down the cost of creating short-term benefits. However, it drains the economy and growth. A business strategy for success in a digital world needs to understanding that every technology with transformation potential starts in isolation. Digital is not an exception. Mobile, cloud, process, customer, supply chain and others have each its own strategies before they blended into business strategy.
